The Breckenridge Recreation Department

Overview

The Breckenridge recreation department for the city of Breckenridge Colorado is based out of the town recreation center. This recreation facility was built in 1991 and became so popular to the locals that it was expanded in 1996 to accommodate the large numbers of attendees. It is located on 880 Airport road, right on the outskirts of town but a quick bike ride for all residents. As the city has become a very well-known tourist destination for American citizens and even international citizens, it went through another renovation and expansion in 2018, which cost just over $17 million.
The Recreation department does not possess their own mission statement but instead utilizes the mission statement for the town of Breckenridge. The town's mission statement is, “The Town of Breckenridge protects, maintains, and enhances our sense of community, historical heritage, and alpine environment.  We provide leadership and encourage citizen involvement.”
